I just graduated from Truman in the Spring of 2008.
I lived there for a few months after graduation and got a chance to do a little mushroom hunting.

Last year I found a few pretty good spots around the Kirksville area for finding morels. I didn't see much until the second week of May. Be very patient up there. It will get warmer soon.

If you want, feel free to email me: cjrages@gmail.com. I can give you some ideas of where to look.Chris Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06666829998586497286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32979156.post-70809073935767102382009-04-13T11:13:00.000-05:002009-04-13T11:13:00.000-05:00your experiment is awesome! I want to grow my own mushrooms... can you see the spores that make them come back year after year?

Also, what's the temperature been like where you're at? Up here in Kirksville we've had tons of rain but I honestly thought that it's be way too cold for the morels to start popping up since it's gotten to the 30s every night for 2 weeks. But then I read your blog and hear of people finding some up here. And will a freeze kill them or will it just halt their growth for a while?

Karli-RaeKarli-Raehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01961553894772284967noreply@blogger.com
