I cannot stress enough, always be certain that you have properly identified any mushroom before eating it. Remember when in doubt throw it out.

A Quick Reminder
Youth turkey season is this weekend, so if you are out in woods be sure to wear some hunter's safety orange so you are not mistaken for a morel hunting gobbler.
My wife thinks I am making up stories when I tell her that turkeys have been eating the morels in the woods where we hunt. I often find mushrooms by looking for spots where the turkeys have been scratching the leaves away, and have some success that way.
I'm pleased to see that I'm not alone in thinking the turkeys go for morels; do you think they have a preference for different kinds of morels? I think they prefer blacks over yellows. That's OK with me, I like finding the yellows!
