They are here

The morels showed up in Mid-MO about mid-week but they are very tiny. I'm letting them grow so they get to a more pickable size.

Here are a few photos. More to come this weekend.

  1. Can't wait, I live just north of KC and the moisture is here but the cool nights and no prolonged warming stretch has hurt us, we need a stretch of upper 60s and some mid 70s and three or more nights above 50 and then it is on. I have a post on my blog about Mushroom Hunting Tips if anyone is interested check it out at http://countryboyoutdoors.wordpress.com/

  20. About that photo with the dime--are those really morels??? Did you track them and what did they become? How did you find them? And what the heck are those antler-things on the leaf on the left?

I have a question. I was given some mushrooms and was unable to cook them soon after being gifted with them. How long will they lasts in the refrigerator and how will i know if they are not good to eat anymore? They have rusty looking spots on the inside of the stems and the curly tops are not as light a shade of tan as they were when they arrived.
